Bangkok! It’s a big, bustling city with more than 16 million people. Intoxicating aromas, motorcycles, massage houses, exhaust, temples, heat and haggling- it’s the combination of things that make the capital of Thailand so intriguing. Yet among the intrigue lies insurmountable disorder. And although traveling is a time to step away from daily routines, I still find myself craving some kind of order. Of course, as a traveler, I love the unplanned opportunities to experience a culture firsthand, but there are some things where order must remain—flight itineraries, hotel reservations and…my suitcase. Hey, a girl’s gotta know where her silver studs are. And just like a suitcase my purse needs order too.
My Baggallini handbag did just that and more. The Horizon Crossbody gave me all the compartments I needed—a zippered pocket on the inside for copies of my passport, pockets for my lip gloss and chapstick, and plenty of cardholders for my credit cards and room key. One feature I loved was the money pouch securely fastened to the inside of the purse, so I would never lose it while pulling something else out. The larger space in the bag I used for my water bottle, mosquito spray, camera and a small guidebook. It gave me just enough space to carry the necessities and prevent me from filling it with other things that would weigh me down.
There were a lot of things that happened on my trip that were out of my control—trying to hail a taxi at 3 p.m., the language barrier, getting dropped off at the wrong location, or getting lost in Chinatown. But if there was one thing that I could control, it was the organization of my bag. With my Baggallini thrown across me I was able to hit the streets running, experiencing all the joys of traveling to a new destination. It was just the kind of order I needed to enjoy the disorder of big, bustling Bangkok.
